Description of the project in one paragraph

The Interreg Euro-MED GreenList4MMPAs is a project, funded by the Interreg Euro-MED programme, which aims to promote effective and equitable management of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in the Mediterranean Region. Bringing together six partners from five different countries, the project will explore how the IUCN Green List can be used to help Mediterranean MPAs achieve their environmental and socioeconomic objectives. The Green List is a program of certification for Protected and Conserved Areas that are effectively managed and fairly governed. Over 27 months and with a total budget of €600,000, the GreenList4MMPAs project will identify how the Green List Standard can be applied to assess, improve and maintain the performance of Mediterranean MPAs.
